The Desert Trail Rodeo star John Scott (John Wayne) and his gambler friend Kansas Charlie are wrongly accused of armed robbery at the Rattlesnake Gulch rodeo just after Scott had won his rodeo prize money. The two fugitives are forced to flee to another town and set out on a mission to clear their names and catch the real culprit.
